Our Cottage Grove location has an opening for a Lead/Supervisor for a talented group of CAD professionals who develop solutions for Non-Standard Product Requests (NSPR).   

This position is responsible for leading a team dedicated to understanding unique customer product needs and determining whether we should produce these units and if so, what specifically needs to be done to provide these unique solutions.  This team is on the forefront of orchestrating customer delight be delivering unique solutions to our unique customers. This leadership position offers a great opportunity to collaborate cross functionally inside of the Andersen Enterprise, lead a highly energetic and talented group of individuals, as well as collaborate externally as we work to meet the many product needs of our expansive retail network.   

 

ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: 

·       Provide leadership, coaching and work direction to a team of 5-7 CAD professionals, all dedicated to delivering high quality product solutions. 

·       Lead projects to drive efficiency and optimization of meeting our network needs for non-standard product solutions. 

·       Maintaining adequate team levels to support production and proposing changes to process or structure to effectively resource gaps.

·       Work cross functionally with Quality, RDI, Customer Service and our retailers to gain alignment on strategic goals and how Non-Standard Product Requests fit in.

·       Comfort working in a fast-pace, dynamic work environment.

·       Expected travel <10%.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Minimum Qualifications 

·       Bachelor’s Degree in the Engineering/Science field or equivalent in Computer Aided Design.

·       5+ years of experience in 2D/3D CAD, Product Design, Research and Development, or Process Engineering.

·       0 - 2 years of people leadership or equivalent experience leading high performing teams.

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·       Knowledge of design specification and documentation methods.

·       Self-motivated with strong intellectual curiosity.

·       Working knowledge in 2D & 3D solid modeling (AutoCad/Inventor preferred).

 

Strongly Desired Qualifications 

·       BS in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or equivalent engineering experience

·       7+ years Engineering experience in both product and process design

·       2+ years of people leadership or equivalent experience leading high performing teams

·       Experience in process improvement efforts (i.e. kaizen, etc.)

·       Working knowledge of lean sigma

·       Proficiency in project management methodologies (PMBOK), With demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion both independently and leading a team

·       Proficient in 2D & 3D solid modeling (AutoCad/Inventor preferred)

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily located in an open office environment with cubicles; and manufacturing plants. The use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection and steel toed shoes is required.  Frequent communication via email, phone, Teams, and in person visits are a core function of this job.   There is flexibility in this role, however, and a hybrid work environment can be accommodated if desired by the candidate.

Profit Sharing

During 2022, each eligible Andersen employee will receive $1,000 for each full fiscal quarter they are actively employed and fully vaccinated against COVID-19. An eligible employee hired during a quarter will receive a prorated payment based on the number of days employed during the quarter. Those eligible include fully-vaccinated regular full-time and part-time employees (at least 20 hours per week) who are not subject to a collective bargaining agreement. These and other terms and conditions of Andersen’s 2022 Profit Sharing Plan, including the definition of full vaccination against COVID-19, are subject to change or termination without notice.
